Case Details

Michael Allen Ficery went missing on June 15, 2005. He went on a solo hike in Yosemite National Park at the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. On his way back, he headed up the Pacific Crest Trail, towards Tiltill Mountain. When he did not return home after his wilderness permit expired on Sunday, June 19, 2005, his family called the park’s service on Tuesday, June, 21.

A search was conducted, and his backpack, along with his other belongings, were found near Tiltill Mountain. This prompted a full scale search which included the use of helicopters, dogs teams, and search and rescue teams from at least 5 other counties.

Michael Ficery was never found.
