OCEANA COUNTY, MI — Police have located the body of a missing Ottawa County woman who went hiking Saturday in the Manistee National Forest.
There are no signs of foul play or trauma, Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast said.
Lisa Ann Casler, 54, went hiking and birding on Saturday, Oct. 17 but didn’t return home.
Her car was found in the day-use area of Pines Point, near Hesperia.
Casler worked for Ottawa County Community Mental Health. When she failed to show up for work Monday, co-workers were concerned and called Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
Searchers looking Tuesday with a police dog located her body about 1,500 feet from where her car was parked.
Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast stated that no foul play is suspected, and her death was probably due to a medical event, environmental exposure, or both.
