Yellowstone National Park officials have confirmed that the search and rescue operation for Kim Crumbo has become a recovery mission. The cause of death for his brother, Mark O’Neill, has been determined; Mark died of exposure (hypothermia) and his remains were found on the east shore of Shoshone Lake. The two brothers were reported overdue by a family member on Sunday, September 19, 2021 when they didn’t return from their four-night backcountry trip to Shoshone Lake.
