Case Details
According to Tallahassee Democrat,
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a body found in Apalachicola National Forest Monday morning, June 28, 2021.
A “citizen,” who discovered the body, called deputies at around 9:40 a.m., said LCSO spokesperson Shade McMillian. LCSO arrived at the scene and began investigating 20 minutes later, he added.
McMillian did not know the sex or age of the body.
McMillian did not say if there is suspected foul play, but the investigation is being headed by LCSO’s violent crimes unit.
While the national forest remains open, National Forest Road 301 — off Silver Lake Road — is blocked off while the investigation continues.
