Case Details
Katherine Anne Truitt was last seen by her roommate on January 6, 2010 in her home in Alameda, California. Truitt would frequently hike along McClures Beach as a way to control her chronic pain that was a result from a neck injury. Truitt visited the beach, along with three of her dogs, the day she disappeared.
On January 9, 2010, her truck was spotted near McClures Beach in Point Reyes National Seashore with two of her dogs inside the truck, and one tied to a rock nearby. Search efforts for Truitt included tracker dogs that located her scent on a trail leading to the beach, but then her scent disappeared.
Officials do not believe foul play was involved, and that she may have got into a mishap while hiking in the area.
Katherine Truitt remains missing.
