Jai’Quan Carter failed to show up for a family reunion on December 12, 2020 and his mother, Lisa Carter, made multiple attempts to contact her son by phone, but he never answered. Jai’Quan was reported missing on December 12, 2020. According to Lisa, Jai’Quan was diagnosed with schizophrenia 7 years ago.
On December 15, 2020, Lisa received a phone call informing her that her son was found deceased after falling about 80 feet on the South Kaibab Trail, near Black Bridge in Grand Canyon National Park.
Jai’Quan Carter loved basketball, music, and nature. He was 23-years-old at the time of his death.
