According to Dawson County Fire and Emergency Services,

Dawson County and State authorities are currently searching for this man. His name is Eddie Noonkester and he began a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail on Friday, February 14, 2020. He has since become disoriented and may be suffering from a medical emergency. It is believed that he is on or near the AT approach trail somewhere in Dawson County, however it is also possible that he has wandered off the trail and surrounding National Forest or Park property. If you come across someone matching his description please call 911.
