This case has been listed due to the remains being found in close proximity to Mount Hood National Forest. No relevant missing persons report has been connected to these remains.
Officials indicate that the foresty area in which the body was recovered was cleared only 2 years prior to the discovery of the body. Together with the given information (body found near Clear Creek), and mention of the town of Estacada, we estimate the body was found in a recently cleared area just east of the Clear Creek area. This information has not been verified, but will be indicated in the "found location" section until otherwise noted or updated.
Skeletal remains of an unidentified male, proximate age being late teens to early 30s, were found on March 24, 2005. The remains were found in a tree farm/forested area of Estacada, Oregon, close to Clear Creek, and about 13.6 miles from the border of Mount Hood National Forest.
Investigators believe the remains may have been in that location for years, and possibly buried - foul play has been considered a possibility for this person's death.
The Sherriff's Office has little information to work with in order to identify these remains, and have released the clothing information, accessories, jewelry, and the location where the body was found to the public. They are asking those who might have any information to provide the investigators with any relevant tips, and to refer to case number 05-11144.
To Report Info: The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about this unidentified male -- and asks anyone who recognizes any of the clothing and/or has information about this person to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Tip Line at 503-723-4949 (or use the online e-mail form).
