The body of 65-year-old Constance Markham was recovered on Sunday, January 10, 2021 after initial reports indicated that Markham fell from a steep slope in Ricksecker Point on Mount Rainier National Park on Saturday, January 9, 2021.
Searchers were able to locate her body on Saturday in steep, hazardous terrain and returned on Sunday to complete the recovery. The fall has been ruled an accident, and Missing NPF has not obtained any information regarding whether she was alone or with others at the time of her fall.
Twenty-two National Park Service employees with assistance from 13 Mountain Rescue Association personnel and one person from Pierce County Fire District 23 worked to recover the body.
