According to The Denver Post,
Officials in Utah closed areas of Zion National Park on Sunday, June 6, 2021, as rescue crews searched for a climber who went missing a day earlier on June 5, 2021. Park officials said the search was taking place in The Narrows — an imposing gorge carved by the Virgin River that has rock walls a thousand feet tall and is one of the park’s most popular destinations.
In addition to The Narrows, the closure covered Mystery and Orderville Canyons, the Temple of Sinanwava shuttle stop and Riverside Walk. Zion, located about 20 miles north of the Utah-Arizona border, is known for its narrow canyons and massive sandstone cliffs. Park spokesperson Amanda Rowland told television station KUTV that search and rescue crews had been searching in the area since Saturday for the missing climber.
