Douglas County Search and Rescue has recovered the body of an overdue hiker identified as Ryan Walter, 35. A multi-team search and rescue effort was launched on the evening of January 25 after the report of a missing hiker was received. The search was launched in the area of Indian Creek Trailhead, which is located near Sedalia, Colorado. A body was found later that night and was confirmed to be Walter.
The announcement of the discovery was made the following day. According to source, We are sad to announce the passing of Ryan C Walter on January 25th, 2021. He died while participating in one of his favorite activities, hiking the Colorado foothills with his beloved dog. While hiking he was caught in an unexpected cold snap which dropped the temperatures on the mountain trail into the teens and enveloped him in a thick wet snowfall. He succumbed to hypothermia. He was 35 years of age.
Ryan’s other passions included singing and playing several instruments, composing and performing covers, as well as bartending at Red Rocks Amphitheater and Chili’s.
