Michael Dahl was hiking the Lower Yosemite Falls Trail with friends on March 21, 2015, the day he disappeared. When Michael's friends noticed he was missing, they spent 2 hours searching for Michael before notifying the park rangers.
On March 23, 2015, a park visitor noticed some movement out of the corner of his eye, and spotted Michael who was about a quarter-mile east of the Lower Yosemite Falls Trail, below Sunnyside Bench.
Michael sustained serious injuries from a fall and was taken to the hospital where he was able to make a recovery.
