UPDATE:
The remains of Mr. Naterer seem to have been located in the place where search and rescue teams originally believed he was. That so, he was not located in United States federally managed land; however, we will not delist this case.
ORIGINAL:
Among the reasons why Missing NPF is listing this case is due to the plausibility that Mr. Naterer took the Frosty Mountain Trailhead, traveled south to Frosty Mountain and continued South into the northern boundary of the United States, near Castle Peak.
This possibility has been unofficially verified by the discovery of Mr. Naterer's off-trail footprints, the identification of his white hat and Oakley brand sunglasses in an area south of "Frosty Peak," which Missing NPF understands to be, "Frosty Mountain."
Connected Parks and last known locations are assumptions, and should not be considered fact until verified. When Missing NPF lists a case in this manner, we are extending the possibility that the person is within short traveling distance to federally-managed land.
