According to the book "It Happened in Yosemite National Park: Remarkable Events That Shaped History", written by Ray Jones, Godfrey Wondrosek was a tourist from Chicago, Illinois.
He and his sister were vacationing in Yosemite National Park when Wondrosek ventured on a solo hike in an area of Half Dome, and never returned. His sister reported him missing on April 26, 1933. Search parties searched for about a week, but he was never found.
